Yes, Meekatharra has a Visitors Centre located at Lloyds Plaza on Main Street called the Meekatharra Community Resource and Visitors Centre

Where do i find the road condition reports?

The Shire of Meekatharra's Road Condition Reports can be found here. please make sure you check the road condition reports before travelling on unsealed roads. For information about the Great Northern Highway or Goldfields Highway (Meekatharra to Wiluna Road) please contact Main Roads.

Is Meekatharra an RV Friendly town?

Meekatharra is a RV friendly town with plenty of places to stay and facilities to use. There is potable water is available in Welcome Park on Main Street, on the adjoining south side block of the public toilets. A dump point is located in the ally behind between Main Street and Hill Street, entrance can be from Savage Street or Porter Street.

Short term park is available at:

  • Information Bay on Main Street
  • The empty block across from the Royal Mail Hotel on Main Street
  • On Main Street between Porter and Savage Streets
  • Lions Park on Hill Street

Is there mobile reception in Meekatharra?

Mobile phone reception is available only through the Telstra network in town, be aware that reception is sometimes hard to come by once you have left the town.

How do i get to meekatharra?

There are several paths that will lead you to Meekatharra.Barlangi Rock - Murchison GeoRegion Trail

The most popular is driving, the road trip into Meekatharra is filled with amazing views and things to do along the way. Located on the Great Northern Highway half way between Perth and Port Hedland Meekatharra is a great destination and stop over. 

Flying into Meekatharra from Perth is available through Skippers Aviation and is a three hour flight stopping in Wiluna. To fly to Perth from Meekatharra is a two and a half hour flight stopping in Mount Magnet. 

There are two bus companies that travel to Meekatharra, TransWA and Integrity Coaches.
